FAQs
You've got questions 🤔
We've got answers.
What is a growth mindset and why is it important for my child?+
A growth mindset is the belief that abilities and intelligence can be developed through effort, learning and persistence. For children, it helps them embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and build resilience: key skills for lifelong confidence and success.
At what age should I start teaching my child about resilience?+
It's never too early. You can nurture resilience from infancy with simple, age-appropriate strategies. The Book Chain, workshops and 1:1 support all cover practical ways to support children of all ages, from babies to primary schoolers, so you can start wherever you are.
How can I help my child overcome fear of failure?+
Start by showing your child that mistakes are a natural part of learning. Encourage them to try new things, praise their effort, and share your own experiences with setbacks. The weekly tips and 1:1 support are built around step-by-step guidance to build this supportive environment at home.
What's the difference between praising effort and praising ability?+
Praising effort (“You worked really hard on that puzzle!”) encourages children to keep trying and builds resilience. Praising ability (“You're so smart!”) can make kids afraid to take risks. Effort-based praise is at the heart of the weekly tips and workshops.
Who is Noisy Book Club for?+
Parents and carers of children roughly aged 4–11 who want practical, classroom-tested ways to build their child's confidence, resilience and love of learning, whether that's through the free Book Chain, workshops, kids' clubs, or 1:1 support. If you want real tools rather than just theory, you're in the right place.
What are your qualifications? Are you actually qualified to do this?+
Yes. Enhanced DBS checked · PGCE-qualified teacher · Master's in Education · trauma-informed practitioner · BA in Fine Art · full paediatric first aider · KS1 specialist in play-based learning · former school governor · mother of two. And the qualification that counts most: years of surviving bedtime stories on zero notice and somehow still finding them magical. 😄
